Martin Williams Advertising Wins Top Award for 2015 Hub Prize
Agency named Best of Show for FINNEGANS Reverse Food Truck
November 5, 2015 – Minneapolis – Last week, Martin Williams Advertising was granted the top award, Best of Show, for the 2015 Hub Prize competition. The Hub Prize honors marketers across the globe who have created innovative brand or retail experiences that improve people’s daily lives. The agency received the prestigious award on October 28 during the 2015 Hub Live: The Brand Experience Symposium in New York City, where 37 finalist gathered to learn the highly-anticipated results of the Hub Prize competition.
The Hub Prize competition celebrates the many ways in which brand marketers, retailers and others make the brand experience come alive, improve people’s daily lives and create enduring emotional bonds. By recognizing performance across every kind of brand and retail experience, from around the world, the Hub Prize promotes innovation and excellence. Entries ranged from global brands within various market segments such as soda, coffee, fast food, gasoline, internet and cell phone companies, each competing for one of 12 Gold, 12 Silver, 12 Bronze and one Hub Cup (Best of Show) awards.
“It’s an honor to be among a group of such highly respected global brands,” said Tom Moudry, CEO and Chief Creative Director at Martin Williams Adverting. “This award is the result of not only our agency’s creativity but the truly collaborative partnership we have with Jacquie and the entire FINNEGANS team. Here’s to to doing good!”
Martin Williams has been the agency of record for FINNEGANS since 2009. FINNEGANS beer was created by a driven and charismatic woman, Jacquie Berglund, whose mission is to fight hunger by giving 100% of the company’s profits to charity, specifically local food shelves. Over the past ten years, this small, volunteer-fueled company has raised nearly $500,000 for charity, connecting fresh produce from local growers with area food shelves in states where FINNEGANS is sold. Keeping the 2014 goal of increasing donations by 35 percent in mind, Martin Williams created the world’s first-ever Reverse Food Truck. The Reverse Food Truck captures the spirit of FINNEGANS, turning the popular food truck culture on its head with a truck that doesn’t make food, but instead accepts non-perishable food and monetary donations for The Emergency Foodshelf Network, a food bank dedicated to serving the hunger needs of the local community.
Within the November/December 2015 issue of The Hub magazine, judges’ comments on the Best of Show winner were included stating “I am going to try to temper this evaluation lest my gushing come off as the ravings of a lunatic—but this is quite simply marketing at the highest level. It’s an instantly compelling idea, fantastic (and fun) creative, leverages social media perfectly, and — above all—engages the audience emotionally.” and also “Hands down the best of those I reviewed—and that’s for the vision, creativity, execution, results, and willingness to share. The ‘social purpose’ piece is a nice bonus, but this won on its merits, not its cause.”
